USERS BUSINESS:

Bindery

APPLICATION:

Pallet Weighing

OPERATION:

Binderies are businesses that receive material from printers for processing and forwarding to mail order houses or other consumers for distribution. An example might be 4' square sheets of standard size brochures that have been received for cutting and folding and/or attached to another document before forwarding to a mail house company.

Binderies do not take ownership of product and therefore do not resell to the customer. They receive the material and are responsible to the printers customer with consideration of a shrink factor.

Should they exceed that shrink allotment and forward a smaller amount to the end customer having a mailing deadline, there may not be enough time to recover and the bindery is penalized heavily.

Control is absolutely necessary. When a machine is misaligned and brochures or documents are destroyed, corrections can be made if discovered soon enough.

The pallet truck scale provides this function. By weighing all products in by job number and comparing to the finished out weight they know the exact shrinkage weight. If it exceeds the limit there is still time to react.
